The Bristol Sound
Greetings from Bristol, England, a city only two hours from London by car, but
a million miles away in terms of peace of mind.
The history of Bristol is colourful but dark:
as one of the main ports
involved in the infamous "triangular trade", Bristol was
a mercantile city with a long
tradition making money in slaves, alcohol and tobacco.
Even today one can find remnants of that era, such as main
shopping streets called "Whiteladies Road" and "Blackboy Hill."
More recently Bristol has been hailed as an international centre for
hot air ballooning.
